My Altered Suitcases.

These are my suitcases which I have altered in the past few months.  The bottom one was mine when I was a child, and the others were gifted to me by the super ladies in our local altered art group which meets weekly.  I keep my ‘good’ altered books, and handmade journals in them.

Suitcases of mine which I have altered with vintage newsprint from the 19th cent., as well as fabric and artful map paper.

I really love this idea. I’ve seen it here and there…but yours are most spectacular. Gonna have to see about finding some old suitcases!

How wonderful. Love how you altered them. I look for small, old suitcases to repurpose but never find them. Great idea for storing your altered books.

I too am impressed!! Love the idea.

  6. These are so fun, Corinne. I have one I did that has my doily collection in it. You are right about it being a good place to store things. I have one more small round one yet to do. You can see how I did mine by going to the October Napkin challenge file where we put pictures. I used lots of vintage ladies on mine and some napkins for color and roses.
Thanks for sharing with us at AB.

I LOVE your suitcases Corinne!!! This is something I’ve been wanting to do for awhile now!

Your suitcases are wonderful, Corinne! Yes, they make terrific storage units for treasures…. practically airtight, and dust-free. Most luggage today is the soft-sided kind, it is getting more and more difficult to find the old hard-sided kind.

    These are absolutely gorgeous!

I love these! I have some of the older suitcases which I like just how they are but some of my newer ones that don’t have the same “patina” would be perfect candidates!

LOVE these. I have 17 suitcases. Some have supplies in them but most are empty. I have three stacked up as my end table in the living room. I am going to do this to some of the newer ones.

  15. Dianne says:

Great idea Corrinne! especially love the little round suitcase…

  16. Geez, those are beautiful!!! I had one I was going to do something with but I got discouraged and got rid of the suitcase…..you’re making me wish I still had it.
