Some folks call them Zentangles….I’ve called mine “Doodangles”(which you can see in this album).
This past Tuesday, I shared my doodling ideas and fun with our local altered art group…we each had a piece of watercolor paper (18 X 22) and then melted some crayons for focal points onto the paper, then drew designs out from these focal points. This is mine:

18 X 22 -inch sheet of watercolor paper, with melted crayon, calligraphy pen and Faber-Castell Pitt artist pens in a variety of colors – Zentangles
After finishing this, I decided to play a bit in photoshop to get some color and pattern variations. I printed them out with my laser printer, and will use them for backgrounds in collages, etc.
Do you remember your days of coloring with crayons?; doodling on notebook covers in school? ; just messing around in spare time with a pencil and scratch pad? No? well- that’s what I used to do when I was young – obviously I still do!
NOTE: If you’d like to see more inspiration on Zentangles, there is a new book out by one of my favorite artists, Beckah Krahula! You can see it HERE.

Who would have though doodles could be so inspiring?
I love these!
Would it be okay if I use the first on as my wallpaper?
I could use inspiration everyday!
Hi Corinne,
Love the new doodles. The green and blue is my favorite. Yes, I have doodled all my life and can relate. Do you have a photo of what the paper looked like with just the melted crayon on it? How did you melt, apply the crayon?
I just LOVE your doodangle and it’s variations and it’s name!
I love what you created, doodangles! Thank you so much for the book rec.—I just added it to my wish list on Amazon for Santa—lol
