More Altered Pages

My hope for everyone is Peace and beauty as we approach this Christmas and holiday season. We had a lovely Thanksgiving in Seattle with family and friends.  I missed creating art each day- I realize I need to do ‘something’ artful every day!

Here is the ‘book within a book’ that I created for Lorena’s book in the round robin I am in. I cut out around the group of pages, and used blank ‘flash’ cards as the little book covers.  I also used printed tissues,  ‘Duck’ tape, and lots of odds and ends to created the pages. The closure is sari silk ribbon.

A little book within the book.

First little spread….

Second spread – tucked into the pocket on the right are some antique tiny Czech white beads on a string – that led me to use the ‘Once Upon a Time’ phrase.

3rd Spread

4th Spread – I added a little acetate overlay on the left.

5th spread – the postage stamp is a gardening commemorative US stamp….I cut out some fabric flowers and painted some…garden in a pocket. :)

6th spread – the image is from an old Dover book I have from 1980 or so… The little pin was a gift from a friend in our local art group.

last pages…I added some dictionary words with drywall patch tape. I love that stuff!

Readers are leaders! :)

Corinne, what a fantastic idea! I absolutely love this (and have the perfect old book to copy the idea in). Thanks so much for your generous sharing of ideas.

  3. Look at you, Corinne, once again leading the pack with your great ideas. Way-ta-go, girl. I like the drywall patch idea too. Have some that’s been sitting around the garage for ages. Nice papers in there too. So what’s your plan for the little book??? Poetry maybe?
